PHOENIX NETWORK GROUPS
Expand Your Career Network
Join one or more of the LinkedIn groups that I own with over 400 members in the Phoenix area. Note that these are the only longtime and active
Cisco organizations in Arizona. Like employers and recruiters constantly remind me, engineers have to choose to be known or unknown. Group membership offers
the following benefits:
- access to Cisco or F5 technical information
- access to the latest rate and salary information
- an opportunity to continue your network education
- an opportunity to add network engineer contacts
- an opportunity to add network recruiting contacts
- an opportunity to add social contacts

LURKER NOTE
For Those Unfamiliar with the Term
- Members who view groups without joining the group are "lurkers." This is not a derogatory term. Many LinkedIn members do not want to join a group as a
very few managers troll the groups as they feel that membership by one of their people indicates that that they are looking for a new position.
- Any LinkedIn member can look at my public open groups without joining the group. Of course, these users will not receive discussion notices by email and
other benefits. But I truly understand why they do not wish to join.
- I am happy to say that I have hundreds of lurkers who visit my groups. How do I count them? I have received about 20 contacts a week on average for the
past 5 years from the groups, and most are not members when they contact me. Of course, many join when I encourage their membership.
